My name is Natasha Bernal, I am a journalist and creative writer based in London. I have ample experience working in print and online, producing off-diary pieces, exclusive stories and interviews and cover features. In charge of a team of three journalists, producing daily news and analysis for Responsible for editing and writing news, running social media sites and newsletters.

July 2015- March 2017: The Lawyer Magazine – Projects Editor

I edit and manage two sections of the weekly magazine and am responsible for a beat focused on the in-house and the US markets, generating breaking news, analysis and interviews online daily.

My responsibilities include:

-Editing and writing analysis-based special reports that appear online and in the magazine on a weekly basis, focusing on specific regions or practice areas/sectors.

-Managing, editing and writing the interview section for the magazine every week, and editing The Lawyer Market Intelligence‘s monthly sector-based data reports.

-Acting as deputy news editor in the absence of the news editor: editing stories, managing the main page, breaking news alerts, newsletters and social media accounts.

-Writing news stories and analysis daily as a writer for the magazine. To see examples of my work, please click here:

-Leading and coordinating major editorial projects, such as the Hot 100, and writing extensive data reports as part of a team project.

-I also map out content schedules and managing all coverage of The Lawyer’s conferences and events throughout the year: live coverage of sessions, video interviews and content leading up to and after events.

August 2014 – July 2015: The Lawyer Magazine – Reporter 

As a news reporter for The Lawyer, I covered US/international firms, finance, technology, pharma, IT, IP, media, entertainment and FMCGs. I also wrote features, in-house interviews and special reports for the print magazine every week. Part of my role included generating online breaking news and analysis pieces.

August 2013- August 2014: LaunchPad Recruits (London) – Content Writer

I worked part time at this technology startup, and was in charge of the smooth running of its official blog, social media updates, SEO and communications. I wrote and edited whitepapers and blog posts.

February 2012 – April 2013: Integralcom (Spain) – Lead Technology Journalist for

I worked as technology reporter and editor at TICbeat, one of Spain’s top online tech publications covering technology, big data, innovation and business news daily. I was also in charge of generating content for third party corporate news sites (such as GE Healthcare) in English.

My job entailed working under tight deadlines, multitasking and using online platforms (CMS, Hootsuite and Tweetdeck, SEO) to generate high-quality, specialized content in two different languages.

April 2011 – January 2012: Radio Blanca (Spain) – Assistant Programmer at Kiss FM, Hit FM.

I worked as part of the music programming team at both stations, preparing logs, programming changes, call outs and auditorium tests. I was in charge of altering programming clocks and schedules, Kiss and Hit FM libraries and organize call outs and music tests.

I was also involved in some creative aspects of the radio, designing and creating new programs and content for Hit FM and translating interviews when needed on and off air. I also supported the programme director on a daily basis and to enable him to delegate work.

June- September 2010: Thomson Reuters Spain – Trainee Journalist 

I worked within the Spanish News Department at Thomson Reuters Spain to gain experience in written and online journalism. My main duties were:

-To work with translation pieces and to edit from English to Spanish within tight deadlines

-To attend and report from press conferences

– Responding to general inquiries and tip-offs from the public

– Conducting extensive research through various mediums in order to create news features (Telephone sources, government statistics, market research, etc).
