The Best Vines of 2013

Vine is arguably the best thing that happened to the internet this year. Since it launched in January 2013, funny, outrageous creative and weird short videos have found their own niche between gifs and YouTube videos.

Special mention should be given to Marlo Meekins’ Everybody Spurts, which took over Vine by storm. Too many people to count have recorded their own version of this original video, which is a simple ‘spurt’ to REM’s ‘Everybody Hurts’.

This is the epic list of the top 10 Vines of 2013:

10 – The Lemon Guy

A veteran of Vine (if that is even possible), actor Will Sasso helped spread the word about Vine through a series of viral videos. About lemons. Although one Vine could never do him justice, this Taylor Swift inspired video is one of the best.

9- People Always Check Their Surroundings Before Telling a Black Joke

I believe the title is self-explanatory.

8- How to Recover from Being Denied a Kiss

This is one of the many videos that this pair do from California, USA. Could rejection be smoother? Perhaps not.

7- Message in a Bottle

One of the many creative videos that Vine has to offer, Vine’s ‘Message in a bottle’ is short and sweet.

6- I’m Friends with the Monster That’s Under My Bed

This very literal interpretation of a Rihanna song will never let you listen to her music without a grin on your face.

Don’t we all wish we were related to this man? An adorable video of an uncle and his two young nieces is still one of the most popular Vines online.

4- Turn Juice Into Candy

This is MAGIC. Seriously, I don’t know how they made this, but the juice turning into candy is flawless.

3- Gravity Shift

How had no one thought to do this before? This simple yet very well thought-out Vine is a classic already.

2- How Your Dishwasher Really Works

Carlos, you too! This is possibly one of the funniest Vines online.

1- Ryan Gosling Won’t Eat His Cereal

This is the king of all Vines, the one that rules them all. Three elements make it succeed: Ryan Gosling, Cereal and… Ryan Gosling. It was impossible not to put up the compilation, which builds up into an amazing ending.
